In Castleford, the Congregational Church of England first met as a congregation in November 1859. The current building in Carlton Street, next door to Wilkinsons, was built in 1934 and shortly afterwards, the space on either side of the entrance was filled by shops, currently a computer supplies and a sandwich shop.  If you are looking for us using Sat-Nav, our postcode is WF10 1DB

SERVICES

Services are held every Sunday at 11.00am. We have Children’s leaders who lead our Junior Church , with the children and young people for Bible study , Hymn singing , Craft and Colouring and discussion leaving part way through the main service.

There is also a service every second Tuesday in the Social Room at 10.30am. This is accessed through the side door in Back Bank Street.

Alison Carpenter, John Pickles, Harry Atkinson and other lay preachers lead both Sunday and Tuesday services. Alison, John and Harry are current Elders of the Church.

Other Elders include Daphne Pickles, Jean Aston, Denise Marshall and Lynne Bateson.
