Baptism  - Infant Baptism or Believer’s Baptism is a sign that someone is beginning to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and that he or she is joining with others as disciples in God’s Church. Baptism can be received at any time in life, from infancy to “twilight” years. We believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins, which means that it can occur only once in your life. Those baptised in childhood sometimes choose to be received into membership of the church through a Confirmation service..

Baptism is a gift from God and  in our churches is open to everyone. You do not need to be a member of the church to have a child baptised. We also offer an alternative type of service for infants called “Dedication and Thanksgiving” or “D&T”. The minister will be pleased to discuss what is involved in the ceremonies.

To contact the Church Secretary to discuss arrangements for baptism, please use the Contact us page. Alternatively, for baptisms at Castleford, you can contact Rev’d Checkley on 0113 287 7669 or e-mail revacheckley@btinternetcom.
